About the author

JK Hogan was born and raised in Chicago, where early exposure to different people, stories, and realities shaped the way he listen and sees the world. He earned a B.A. in Rhetoric from DePaul University, studying how language, storytelling, and attention shape belief, identity, and human behavior.
At the same time, Hogan spent years serving as a youth pastor, working closely with people navigating faith, pain, doubt, and transition. That combination of formal education and lived, relational experience grounded his ability to listen deeply and speak honestly—without abstraction or distance.
In 2013, JK moved to Dallas, Texas, continuing a life shaped by travel, observation, and meaningful conversation across cultures and environments. His writing reflects that path: thoughtful, direct, and rooted in real experience rather than theory.
